I have had a life-long love of photography. When I was 9 years old my parents bought me a Kodak Brownie camera and I have been taking pictures ever since. I always thought of photography as a hobby to be used for family vacations and family functions. After a trip to Italy, my view of photography completely changed. Rather than only using photography to save family memories, I began actively looking for beautiful images.
I have found that there is an endless source of beauty that can only be captured with a camera. Looking for a photo opportunity in ordinary surroundings where I live have increased my awareness of beautiful images everywhere. Sometimes the least obvious or maybe even unattractive becomes a standout. At that moment when the light is just right, I see things with fresh eyes. A photograph records a moment in time with a specific view that can never again be exactly duplicated.
I am a member of the West Chester Photo Club. My photographs have been on display in Juried Art Exhibitions, Art on the Levee in Newport, The Arts Alliance in Mason, The Montgomery Photo Competition, and various Galleries.
